Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas reviewed the implementation of the PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme in the State during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Secretary of the Local Self Government Department Shri Ravi Jain, along with senior officials from all concerned departments, attended the meeting. Officials from the eight districts where the e-bus service is being operated also participated through video conferencing.

Shri Ravi Jain briefed the Chief Secretary on the implementation and progress of the scheme through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.

CS Directs Timely Completion of Charging Infrastructure

Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas directed officials to ensure the timely construction and installation of the charging infrastructure required for the operation of e-buses. He said that timely completion of the infrastructure would ensure smooth bus operations and provide better facilities to passengers.

He directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure the effective and uninterrupted implementation of the scheme. He also instructed officials to complete all necessary works related to the operation of e-bus services within the prescribed timeline.

Rajasthan to Receive 1,150 E-Buses

Under the PM E-Bus Sewa Scheme, Rajasthan is set to receive 1,150 e-buses in two phases, of which 229 e-buses have been received so far.

A total of 65 charging stations have also been established across eight districts of the State—Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bhilwara and Alwar.

The e-buses being operated under the scheme are air-conditioned electric city buses equipped with modern facilities, including charging infrastructure, digital ticketing and an Intelligent Transport System (ITS).
